Checking-in from WI. Looking forward to being able to exchange information and hopefully expand my network. A few bullet points on me:
- Civilian who may have picked up some bad habits from largely being an autodidact when it comes to training
- Strengths:
- Professional IT background (varying degrees of background in programming, network engineering, security, server admin, and databases)
- Hobbyist in realms of woodworking, metalworking, backpacking, VR, aquaponics, 3D printing, homebrewing/outdoor cooking, some consumer-grade drone knowledge, and a handful of other skills that could be handy
- Good documentation skills
- Ability to learn on my feet and get up to speed with little instruction
- Weaknesses:
- Need to improve skills in medical, comms, land nav, firearms (beyond basic operation and technical knowledge), scouting, intel gathering, leadership, and physical fitness
- Need to expand my local network (I can count on one hand the number of useful guys I know that I could count on during a happening and live within a 30-minute drive)
- Need to acquire more supplies for essentials (I'd estimate 6-8 weeks of everything I would need at home if all the store shelves were empty tomorrow)
