Checking In From New Mexico

Checking in from beautiful (but communist) New Mexico. Professionally I'm a mechanical engineer, most of my career has been sensor systems and weapons.
Some of my experience:
Off-grid man portable HF ham radio using field antennas and solar-battery systems, mostly digital modes (JS8Call, WinLink, VARAC, FT8, APRS, DMR etc)
Food storage and preservation, freeze drier enthusiast
The list goes on
Been following Brushbeater on twitter and Joe Dolio for quite some time, just learned of this forum
