My Nom de Plume is Historian. I'm interested in the history and philosophy of Liberty,
among other many other things.

A former Boy Scout, I'm a serious student, in no particular order and among other things, of:
-The history of technology, tools and toolmaking;
-Military history, especially irregular warfare;
-Engineering, especially civil and mechanical;
-History and technology of small arms and their employment;
-Wilderness survival, including pioneering and land navigation.

My late father believed that one could not be a truly educated man unless he knew something of the sciences, history,
the performing arts, and had mastered at least one of the manual arts; he was, in addition to being an authority in his
academic field, also a skilled cabinet maker and all around handyman, teaching himself auto mechanics when in his 60s.
He also was a skilled photographer and ran his own darkroom as a very young man.

I agreed with my father, and like him I enjoy working with my hands. I have some skills in several of the manual
arts, and I enjoy both reading and writing. I believe that any day I don't learn something new is a wasted day. I look
forward to what the folks on this forum have to teach me!

With regard to all who seek the Light,
Historian

Good to be here, NC Scout!

It has been a hectic spring for me, and promises to be an interesting summer, too!

If you’ll notice, your name is glowing Blaze Orange. You’re in the RRG now brother. Do me a favor and see if you can access that area in the commo section.
