Post by NCislander »

Hey Brothers,
Frikin' New Guy on the forum from the Western NC Mountains. Prior military Submarine Service, hence the handle (NCislander). Been in the Oceans of the world from a different perspective.

Thanks for having me.

Welcome aboard from central NC!

The NC mountains are gorgeous in general, and heaven in the autumn. You live in a very advantageous region, for multiple reasons.

Welcome NCIslander. If you know where Allenstand is, were close.

Somewhat, I'm about 75 miles south. About 3000ft-4000ft elevation around here.

Used to spend every weekend in WNC. Anywhere from Hot Springs to Flat Rock and Lake Junalaska to Asheville. Still ride over the hill to Hot Springs quite often. The mountains are still the only place I want to be.

Same here. Definitely "God's Country" for me. Many other perks as well. It's home.

Possibly. I work in Jackson County daily. I rarely get to the Asheville/Hendersonville areas. And not much beyond my local 30 mile radius.
