Checkin from NW AR, SW MO area

Post by mrthermistor »

I've been following brushbeater blog off and on for a few years, and recently started listening to the podcast.
I got some friends into HAM radio recently, and I'm working to get my license as well.
I have some beofengs and a LEIXEN VV-898 that I have not tested yet. I know this is ultra poor tier gear, but I know these can become my spares later when I get better gear.

I would actually like to know more about the following class:
Scout Course: 1-3 October / $500 / Oklahoma

Welcome aboard, I'm up in Missery.

There is a course description, suggested items, and pre-arrival reading on Brushbeater's site:

-> https://brushbeater.org/course-packing-lists/
-> https://brushbeater.org/scout-course-reading-list/

As far as peculiarities of that particular class/location, shoot off an email to NC Scout. He'd be the one with all the details. I took his class in North Carolina and it was first rate. Well worth the time/money/ammo.

Welcome from just south of you in NW Louisiana.
Looking forward to folks coming up on the comm nets that are actually within NVIS range.

Matt,
Thanks for the recommendation. Which type of class did you take?

I've taken his RTO Basic Course and his Scout Course. Both were full of outstanding information,I had a hard time writing notes it came so quick.
