I've been following brushbeater blog off and on for a few years, and recently started listening to the podcast.
I got some friends into HAM radio recently, and I'm working to get my license as well.
I have some beofengs and a LEIXEN VV-898 that I have not tested yet. I know this is ultra poor tier gear, but I know these can become my spares later when I get better gear.
I would actually like to know more about the following class:
Scout Course: 1-3 October / $500 / Oklahoma
Checkin from NW AR, SW MO area

Re: Checkin from NW AR, SW MO area
Welcome aboard, I'm up in Missery.
There is a course description, suggested items, and pre-arrival reading on Brushbeater's site:
-> https://brushbeater.org/course-packing-lists/
-> https://brushbeater.org/scout-course-reading-list/
As far as peculiarities of that particular class/location, shoot off an email to NC Scout. He'd be the one with all the details. I took his class in North Carolina and it was first rate. Well worth the time/money/ammo.

Thanks for the recommendation. Which type of class did you take?
