There’s lots of trolls here, there and everywhere not to mention the data mining that likely tabbing us as “problem children”.
I know. No problem. I guess I can focus on the fact that someone is watching out for the forum. It's usually the other way around, suspicious stuff isn't questioned.

While I was typing my original post I had in my mind the fact that those FBI guys supposedly tricked those Ohio citizens to Kidnap Governor Wittmer. One report said 6 feds tricked 1 civilian into going along. But that might even be a Babylon Bee thing, it's so ridiculous. But they do it to scare us out of organizing. It might not have even happened. Infiltration is a terrible thing. And they want to make it seem like it's everywhere, so we don't organize. If we organized, this shit would all be gone. We are in a battle of our minds right now. A kinetic war would be easy. This spiritual battle is very tricky.

Do you know the Badlands area, or is that just a random screen name choice?

I was looking at Four Corners and Newbridge for example. Pine Haven on the water looked good, too. Also Moorcroft, Gillette, Upton.

If you have any comments on them.

I wouldn't take it personally. People here all critique posts.

I'm guessing you either don't have close family ties, or maybe they're all in "blue" centers?

I'd start with whichever community you will have the most cultural ties to.

If it's not family/friends, it likely needs to be a faith community, particularly those that have actually proven they're willing to sacrifice their life or conveniences for their faith.

If that doesn't work, it might be people who are so devoted to a lifestyle that they've also given up luxuries and taken sacrifices. I generally don't bother with people solely on the basis of being into preparedness as it doesn't inherently build trust IMO, but if that's all you've got, it couldn't hurt.

Next I'd narrow things down by region. Remote isn't always best as NC Scout alluded to.

I personally prefer the south east because there are mountains, coasts, a long growing season with plenty of agriculture, plenty of manufacturing, and quick access to major ports and shipping lanes.

Yeah, mostly blue family ties in blue cities, so nothing really. Correct.

Thanks for your input. I think I'm starting to find that about preppers. Many prep because they think it's a good idea in general, not so much because they know what's going on.

NC Scout sounded pretty awake in his interview. Hopefully people here are awake.

LivingOnTheFault wrote: Sat Jul 31, 2021 3:31 am Cumberland Plateau, and Northern Arkansas / Southern Missouri are good. I would find a good Church to join if I don't have kin folk, and one that promotes small groups. Churches of Christ are wide spread in the area, and they mostly likely not to be "WOKE". Typically, they have don't have economics of the large churches, and are run by the Church Elders. Trout fishing is good on the White River, and Little Red. Most of these small towns real estate is still reasonable. Only big issue, the Nuclear Reactor on the Arkansas River was having issues a few years ago. You are 3-4 hours from large population centers, like any rural area be very weary of your neighbors you don't want some Meth Heads burning your homestead down or stealing your stuff. Plenty of water, and rain fall. Climate is survivable. The Delta has issues. Getting involved in the local county CERT group would be a good thing to do as well. People like "Bear" are in South Eastern Oklahoma. I think Pastor Joe Fox is near Mena, Arkansas but I only guessing. Medical care can get sketchy. A lot of the local hospitals have been shutdown like in most rural areas.
I didn't think about the meth heads.

And CERT? Is that Emergency Response?

Others have recommended Northern Arkansas, too. I'll have to pull up some properties out there and see what I can find.

A Plateau sounds interesting.

Thanks for the the suggestions.

https://www.ready.gov/cert

I went to my counties training, and took their free classes. Makes your eligible to get special sim chips for your phone which priority's your cell phone traffic on the network. You get introduce to some of the equipment as well. LIke their Community Readiness stuff like their portable Ham Shack, and Rescue equipment. Lot of it is tied in with the volunteer fire departments. You get a CERT badge, and agree to help in Emergency. The local CERT Director was reaching to the local churches so they could house disaster victims with some of state supplied cots, and supplies if needed. Plus these guys are responsible for the ambulance service in the rural areas. Our county doesn't have a hospital anymore. Meeting your local EMS, Sheriff Deputies, and FEMA/CERT guys is helpful.

Volunteer Fire Fighting... Free Training... and it's damn fun as well. And in some states (as mine), your vehicle tag is free.
