GDA's Book Club reading for September 2021 is "Stealth War": by Brigadier General Robert Spalding and the supplemental text "Unrestricted Warfare": by PLA Colonel Qiao Liang and PLA Colonel Wang Xiangsui

Please, write a paragraph or two discussing a few of the most disturbing or amazing things you read from these texts.

I found the discussion of how the Chinese Military could defeat any Islamic nation or group by using holographic projectors particularly interesting (Source: Unrestricted Warfare)

And I found the numbers from Stealth War regarding Chinese students and money in our colleges, especially the Confucius Institutes as a CCP front, particularly disturbing. (Source: Stealth War)

Amazing stuff. Let me know your thoughts on the subject.

I'm in, book has been ordered.

While waiting for the book to arrive, I pulled up an interview that Gen. Spalding did and found it very interesting. If the book is as ood as the interview, I can't wait to read it.

I don't know anything about the interviewer, but I thought he asked some good questions and he dug deep.

I found this quote particularly interesting, " Securing the Internet is a matter of national security. Data is a strategic resource, just like oil was in the 20th century."

Yea. Data is king. The future runs on data, specifically, the 5G future.

Any data, from who wants what style of purse, jewelry, or jeans to sexual preferences and allegiance to country or ideology.

In other words, China, and others, can use your data to tell whether or not you are a communist.

Or gay, or cheating on your wife.

Literally anything.

Wait till you read about the Supply Chain Attacks and how the CCP is married to our highest members of Congress and Senate.

Or, how our schools are largely owned by the CCP

Just finished the book yesterday. To sum it it up: disturbing.

I had no idea that the 2008 bailout money went into institutional property investments in China. China has built enough uninhabited residential property to house every man, woman, and child in the United States, to say nothing of the commercial and industrial development that also sits new-in-box.

Correct. And yet we are told that the Evergrande collapse will destroy the CCP and harm China's economy. Which I don't believe is possible after learning about how quickly China can move money around. China views money and mega corporations as important strategic assets. They move money the same way we move B-52's and Missile Systems.

If you search through the 228 page PDF of Unrestricted Warfare that was translated into English and search the word 'hack' (giving you all variations of the word such as hacking, hacker, etc.) you'll find 45 occurrences.

https://www.oodaloop.com/documents/unrestricted.pdf

That averages out to about once in every five pages to tell us how the Chinese feel about that skill set.

So, what are we doing to counter that threat? Not we as in the United States, but we as in the members of this forum and other like minded folks.

They are just about done playing with their western toy, capitalism, as their end game is near. They have used and abused naive investors for decades. Their spoils are the profits and IP of western companies and governments that have been foolishly near-sighted, blinded by greed, hookers, and blow.

The current implosion of Evergrande may be billed as a blow to China's economy, but I'd bet the house the CCP doesn't see it that way. They have the world's economy but the nuts and they're just starting to squeeze in earnest.

Correct. Regardless of what happens to Evergrande, the CCP still controls 20% of global manufacturing and they have 1.4 billion workers.

I have the audio book. At least 3 times every chapter I say out loud "WTF?". Truly unbelievable that everyone knows about the argument on which bathrooms people want to use, but no one seems to know or care that China is putting people out of business every day. Only four shipment inspectors allowed in China but there are 5 ports? ARE YOU KIDDING ME
